Random night thoughts

Hello. I just thought of posting a blog post. I don't care if nobody in the other side of the world reads this.

Tomorrow, I will be on a straight 40 hour duty in a provincial hospital in the south. Like, yes. I have to serve 1 year deployment since I graduated from a government hospital.

I recalled the homily 2 sundays ago. It is about God's purpose. I suddenly remember this blog. I started this when I was hesitant to proceed to medicine and it came out randomly in my head that I should pursue medicine. This might be God's ultimate purpose for me. 🥰 I saved several patients in my 4 years of medical practice and changed some of their lives.

Tomorrow will be a beautiful way to save life. I would like to thank God for making my hands as his instrument of healing.

Good night everyone. I hope at some other point, I will think of posting again. Blogger.com, please stay alive.

Somebody is waiting for me

I think this is not an appropriate time to talk about Mr.Right. This is not yet the right time for commitment. I still have other priorities-- studies and ambition. I admit that I am not yet psychologically ready though I'm already in the proper age. There are times that I still act childish though. Above all, I am not yet permitted by my parents to do so. I should retain their trust because they know what is right for me.

Yet time will come that I'll be granted the right time for that. I know that God reserves someone for me. And I know that someone is waiting for me.

I am not really choosy when it comes to appearance and social status. What I search is true love. Whoever he
is, I want someone who loves me who and what I really am despite of my imperfections. I want him to understand what's really me.

I also want someone to go with my
ambitions. I will be a doctor and I know it really takes patience. He really loves me if he can wait and support my legacy on serving others.

Lastly, I want someone who is really loyal. I want him to choose me alone. Beware, I will be really that possessive. I will be only his and he will only be mine.

Hey, whoever you are, wait for me. I hope you just read this post.

CRIFTs -- 2006 to Infinity

True friend is like a black pearl. It is hard to find. I already found mine. Not just one but I have four black pearls and they are pure.

CRIFTs (Christine Joy, Rochelle, Irene, Franzis Thobby) is the gang were I belong. That is not just an ordinary gang, barkada or clique but we are just like sisters. We may be sisters which may not be affiliated with blood. We are sisters in so many ways.

Six years ago (June 2006) as I undertook my journey as a high school student, I met those four beautiful ladies. I knew Irene (Ayiin) in Summer Orientation and Enhancement Program (It serves as a pre-enrollment special class for the qualified upcoming freshmen students in Minglanilla National Science High School to introduce what's life in Science High really all about. It is held in Summer before taking the freshman course). She was one of the first classmates I mingled with on the entire program. To ease boredom, we played BITAY (A paper game to reveal a certain word letter by letter with a stick drawing.). I even remember that she was my first computer laboratory partner.  Here comes Christine Joy (Tinjoy). We knew each other because we became seatmates. If Irene was on my right side then she was on my left side (We were arranged alphabetically, Kho.. Lawas.. Rodriguez). We kept on talking about different stuffs until we became close. I even tortured her house. Gihimo na nakong tambayan.  There also came Rochelle (Shelle-ann). She was sitting beside Christine Joy. Actually, we met during SOEP and she was sitting behind me. We became closer in first year. I recognized her because she's so creative when it comes to her project.I also noticed her wit.  Then I also met Thobby (Yang2x). I knew her as one of my classmates who ace in the class especially when it comes to Math. I really admire her intelligence. I also love her innocent moves (mura pag dili makabuak ug plato ba).

We cherished our friendship for 6 years with laughter and even tears. I admit that we had some conflicts and obstacles in this kind of friendship. But friendship is fake without those. Those made our friendship bonds stronger.

Until now, we are still together. Though we are currently studying at different schools, it doesn't really matter. We always hear mass together every Sunday.

I would like to celebrate this month (though there's no fix date when we met together as five) as a commemoration of our 6 years of  everlasting friendship. Let this friendship be infinite..

2006 to infinity

SECRECY and trust

Secrecy is the quality or condition of being hidden. It is marked by the habit of discretion.

I guess no one ever exists without secrets hidden. These could be anything about family, love, friendship and etc. Ironically, secrets are meant to be shared with the one you "trust". Mostly, people cannot handle to conceal everything so there's a tendency to spill them off.

Trust-- it is an assured reliance on the truth of someone or something. If someone shares his secret unto you, then he gains his trust on you. Yet a single slip of the tongue can break ones trust. Trust is like a mirror, you can't fix it when it's broken. Though you can try to stick the pieces, the crack is still there.

Most of my friends rather share their secrets to their close friends than to their parents. Indeed, I'm different. I always share my own secrets to my mother. She even updated on my crushes. That's how I trust her. Aside from her, there are also my close friends especially my sisters, CRIFTs.

I'm really flattered when somebody shares his own secrets to me. I really love the feeling of being trusted. Believe it or not, I could be a victim of slipping tongue. That's why I'd rather keep my mouth shut than to dare to spill somebody's secret. It is really hard when trust is lost.

Yes, keeping a secret is difficult. Then it really matters on how you control your mind. You should think of the consequences if you let the cat out of the bag. Aside from the worst aftermath which is broken trust, you can embarrass a certain person then ruin his reputation. Maybe, you can destroy somebody's plan.

You can lie if it is really needed. Not all liea can harm. Lie can be beneficial. It really depends on the situation. That's a defense mechanism to remain a secret hidden. Pretend you don't know anything.

To keep safe, better change the topic of a conversation when there's a tendency in digging up a secret. Have a presence of mind

If you want to share your own secret to somebody, think first if the subject of that trust is really that reliable. Anyone has a possibility to spread a secret.

Yes, secrets are meant to be concealed yet most are meant to be revealed. Brace yourself on the revelation but don't let it happen by somebody else's mouth.

Misconception of "weee.. ayoooooooooo.. "

Yesterday, while waiting for a tv program. I was bored. I was tired to read (Read lang gud ang tawag.. sus kung kinsa tong nakasabot.. you know na.. I just don't want it to be obvious). So I read my old posts in this blog. There were certain posts that I found silly. Well, I realized that reading my old posts is a measure on how mature my mind is. Honestly, I never thought that I'll think or do such things I expressed in those posts.

Did you remember this post? I posted that last May 12 2009, entited weee.. ayoooooooooo... It's almost three years, eh? This post really struck me while rereading this last night. Okay let's talk about the middle part. (Let's just call it part... I cannot call it a paragraphs because nothing's really indented in that post)

"It seems that it's too early in thinking about my college but see time is too fast and I'm already in the last year of my high school.
I am already sure about my course. It's computer engineering pero yung ate ko.. nagsabi na sana magchange yung mind ko.. sana pipili pa ako ng mas bonggang course. Gusto sana niyang maging DOCTOR or lawyer ako.
Paano, I really want to enter their industry.. If magiging doctor ako, it seems that I will not be happy. I appreciate the doctors who heal.. pero kahit anong encouragement ng mga relatives ko.. parang ayaw ko talaga. It isn't my passion. I just studied well in advanced biology for the sake of my grades.
Kung law.. ayoko rin.. hahayzt..
Gusto ko talaga yung course na pinagpasyahan ko. Alam ko na mahirap yun kasi involved talaga siya sa math.. eh bahala na.. I'll take all the risks. Eh kasi yun ang passion ko. Baka makaya ko gamit ng pagsisikap.
At saka kapag nakatapos na ako at saka may bongga na akong trabaho."

Char, tagalog pa ang drama.. Hahahah.. If you're a follower of my blog, what can you say about what I am now in the present? Do you have any clues behind the portions that were bold and red. Okay, if you don't know what I'm into right now.. Okay.. I said I will never be a doctor but now I'm playing on a game with aspiring doctors. I think I haven't posted an entry about my changed decision (Nakalimot na ko.. I can't recall because I have 143 posts so far.. I haven't finished rereading).

Let me give a chance to explain everything in this entry. I decided to go into my sister's suggestion because i felt a vibe on taking an engineering course... that may be bad. It's about my weakness in mathematics. There came to a thought about taking risk. If I'll take risks, what if a bad effect might come.. I might not get that "bonggang trabaho".

On being a doctor, I know my sister has a purpose why she suggested me that. I know she trusted my skills and I can do it.

Honestly I decided to go to that because I was really uncertain. Feel nako.. murag makaya ra man tingali ni nako dah, someday I'll learn to love it..

At first I chose BS Biology as an option. Then a mother of a friend of mine suggested BS Medical Technology at Velez College. She said that's the best pre-medical course. I was really clueless about that course. Regardless of it, I took it.

The start of first year in Velez College wasn't really great for me. I haven't got a good stigma in studying because I thought I was unhappy for choosing that option. But I passed all the subjects..

Second semester of First year made me start to love my course especially when I met some friends who made me go through it. Finally, I flew to the Dean's List and it made me more inspired.

Second Year gave me a stronger stigma. Of course the highlight was when I got my anaphy grade. I know I haven't burst my whole effort on that subject but I still got great remarks. In front of my admission slip.. For the first time I vowed to be a doctor heartily.

By this time I'm on my way to the hunger games (you know that already).. I think it's my time to give my all because all of the subjects are majors. I hope I will receive the strongest stigma in that time. Promise that's the time I'll give my all.. -- I'll give my all for me to learn ... then to be a great medical technologist ...then to be a great doctor.. I'll try harder though my effort might not be enough to stand on the effing Dean's List (I still really want to stay. Okay it's up on my fortune and it's up to the Lord if he will let me stay there..). as long as I supply my brain with knowledge.

Okay.. these are all my drama for now.. Tan-aw sa ko ug Dong Yi..

Thanks to your pasalubongs!

I just had my first day of school for 2012. It started with Objectivos Pronombres in Spanish, Soap Carving in PE and the four elements in Philo.

Let me express my gratitude through this blog. I would like to thank Bert Ryan Tigley Lim (one of my college close friends. He was my organic chem and biochem lab partner) for his pasalubong from Surigao. It is a bookmark with a monkey design. Thank you so much idol!

And also thanks to Marissa "Baday Geonzon (My cousin who is studying BS I.T. at Cebu Institute of Technology University for the Peanut Kisses from Bohol. I really miss Bohol so much and I hope I could get there soon..

Hello School for 2012

Klase na ugma? Dali-a sa panahon oi... christmas vacation.. extend pls. (my recent facebook status)

I almost didn't care that my mom kept on prompting me to sleep coz there will be classes tomorrow and now, I'm still blogging. Anyway, after this blog, you might rarely see me post.
Okay let me describe the day before the first day of school of a new year. Mostly, it is the high time of the procrastinators because students are too lazy during Christmas vacation. There may be the time that you thought of reading your notes but after a while you'll get the mood to sleep. You may get the "baboy" personality (lying down after eating then sleep) during holidays.

I just improved this year. (Ayee, sunod na dayon ang new year's resolution o..may lang ba kaha sa sugod?) I haven't crammed too much today because I finished some of my exercises in Statistics and I already studied Cytogenetics for the exam this Wednesday. Honestly, I crammed on transferring the project in Statistics to MS Word for easy printing.. (The project is all about organization and presentation of data. If you've taken stats already, it's like you'll gonna make a frequency distribution out of the data given then you'll make some graphs (bar graphs, histogram, frequency polygon, line graphs and etc. We were tasked to make them tru MS Excel and it's by group. Hahay, I made most of the project and it's so hassle. This is the only chance that I'll complain a bit. I don't want to complain in front of my groupmates. Well, I should task them to print the hard copy! It would be so unfair if I'll be the one to do that!)

Okay today, it's my first in 2012 to go to Ayala from the signing of papers regarding my sister's investments. I decided to go to National bookstore to buy a new ballpen. As I went there, I saw some of the stabilo highlighters and I remembered that most of my highlighters didn't work anymore or almost out of ink. Then here I go, for the new year, I bought new swing cool highlighters with colors blue, pink, orange and violet. For I'm a visually inclined person, I cannot study if my hand outs or notes are plain. I want them to be colorful so that they'll stick to the temporal lobe (site of memory in the brain) easily. I chose swing cool coz it's not so big like the ordinary stabilo which consumes a lot of space in my kit and if I'll be too lazy to place them back to my kit, they can be placed in my pocket if I want.

pink, blue, orange, light blue (old) and violet swing cool highlighters

my kit with my highlighters, ballpens, correction pen, pencils, eraser and calculator

As I went back home from ayala, I glanced through my planner. Planner? Oh, it's just a humble planner. Instead of consuming lots of cafffeine and spending a total of almost 3k for earning stickers just for Starbucks planner, I made my own. What's the use of spending too much money if I have my own creativity? Char... Well, Last month (of year 2011), as I went to Gaisano tabunok to buy some stuffs... I saw a scratch pad worth 2 pesos and I took a look at it. There came a creative plan. I wrapped it in blue and designed it with a ribbon and that's it! I have my planner! What are placed in my planners are just tasks for everyday. As I got my new highlighters, there came an idea to make each page colorful. Instead of check marks for accomplishment, I'd rather place a colorful mark to inspire me to accomplish every task. It may last not only in 2012.. it could last on the next year.

front view of my planner, see how I love google so much

inside my planner

Okay tomorrow, the first period will be.. SPANISH.. Hola español! Hahahah.. Okay, I'd rather sleep now after preparing my stuffs..

Anyway, here's my screenshot of the blogger app on my iphone. I might post a blog in school..

About the new header

Do the pave the way for 2012, I just made my new blogger header. If you notice, there are Spanish words above and below. I was just inspired by my Spanish class. Before 2011 ended, I memorized some verbs in Spanish that have different conjugations. (Verbs in spanish are harder to conjugate than in English. In English, the form of the verb doesn't change if the subject changes from first person to second person and etc. , In Spanish, you need to memorize how the endings are changed in every conjugation plus not just that, there are still other irregular verbs which have different way of conjugating.
Okay, let this post explain what's in the header..
Me llamo Franz- Call me Franz.
hola mis amigos y mis amigas- Hello Friends (boys and girls)
dos mil doce- two thousand twelve

Goodbye 2011

It's only about 5 hours away to 2012. I am really really thankful to God for giving me another year. I'm looking forward for more awesome things to come on 2012.
I would really like to express my gratitude to my family. They played the largest role in my 2011. I will really sacrifice everything just for them. Mommy, I admit that sometimes I get annoyed that you treated me like a baby. But mommy, I really love it. I am indeed blessed to have a mom like you. I do promise that I will pay you back in all your sacrifices to me someday. Someday, I will be the one to make you happy. Ate Georgia, I really miss you especially during holidays. I miss the times when we've made all the noises in this house during Christmas and New Year. Ate, someday I'll prove to you that all your sacrifices are worth. All my endeavors in school are all for you. Kuya Harley, thank you for taking care of my ate Georgia, I'm wishing you all the best. Daddy, I just want to let you know that I still love you. Honestly, I get excited in seeing you every month. I love it when you share your chikas to me even in a few minutes. I also love it when you give me some treat everytime we see each other. I love the way you brag about me to others. I know everything that happened is all for good. I'm sorry that I wasn't a good daughter of yours. Daddy, please stay healthy and happy.
To the C.R.I.F.T.s.. thank you so much for the strongest friendship ever from 2006 til eternity. I really love it when we hear mass together. Christine Joy, wishing you all the best in your duty. Thank you for your encouraging text messages. Roch, I hope you will touch the lives of your patients as what you did to me. Be a great nurse. Ayiin, Be a great nurse too. As a friend of yours I am so proud of your achievements! Thank you for the times we've spent together in school especially in the library. I really really love them. Yang2x, stay sweet and have a good rest. Do not spend your time too much in studying.
To my BSMT friends, thank you so much for showing that college is really fun despite of the stresses we had. I know we can really really do it. We will be the best Medtechs and Doctors in the world. Bert, thank you so much for being a great partner in chemistry. You are really awesome.. bright, gwapo, dato.. (i-add sa facebook?). Kuya Abby... Thank you for the words of wisdom. Those really helped me a lot to be a great student. To Someone.. I forgave you and I'm also asking for forgiveness. I'm sorry for I was too mean to you. To Someone2.. Thank you for the times we spent at the library. Thank you for listening to me during the times I miss my loved ones. You are really talented and I really love it. We may not see each other all the time and you may forget me but I'll never really forget you. Janelle, thank you so much for the friendship. Thank you for listening to me every end of the class. Thank you for being my exhaust fan. I really love our chikas and the times we commute together.
LORD..Thank you so much for bringing me here. Thank you for letting me bring a twist to others' lives. Lord, I may not yet know what's my purpose but paving my way to discover them. Everything is in your will Lord and I'll always do my best to be a better person.

(This is my last post for 2011... Those people mentioned summarized everything for 2011. What's yours? Stay tuned for the next posts on 2012)

10 Realizations of 2011

1. It is not really easy to forget the "must-forget" events in the past. There are some instances that I could remember them.
2. I should not jump directly to conclusions. It is better to think and analyze before I'll burst out some words from my mouth.
(eg. I said, I WILL NOT PROCRASTINATE... still, after I said that statement, I still did it and did it all over and over again..
3. There are people that I thought as significant in the first look but they're having an important role in my life right now.
4. Forgiveness is a refreshing feeling. It serves as a catalyst for a friendship to be stronger than ever.
5. Adrenaline rush is not just a physiological event in my body for emergencies. Well, it happens on random times. It is not just portrayed by my epinephrine but also DETERMINATION.
6. Change cannot really be resisted. It is really sad if a person changes from good to worse.
7. There is really a right time for everything. I cannot dictate my future. It's in the will of God.
8. There are many ways to express my faith. I should not limit myself on Sundays.I can do it in any instance of my life.
9. Distance doesn't really matter for me. Though I'm faraway from my other loved ones, in my heart, they are still near me.
10. Someday, I will change the world and make it better and remember my name..

Ugma na jud! ?@!#$

aedsfgfhjfkdl;

That's what I can say...

This morning, my seemed to tremble beyond the normal (as if it's already the first day of school). Tomorrow is already the awaited day.. June 15, oh my.
Tomorrow, I'll be spending my first day of school yet not on MNSHS anymore T_T. Instead of going south, i'll move towards north. Goodbye green uniform. I just wore it on one year. Hello, white dress and ponytail but I will not wear it yet on the first day for I still don't have one yet.
Hello new friends! I bet they are waiting for me. I really fear if I'll get lost in school. I will not stay in just one room for the whole day. Instead, I'll be the one to go around the classroom for classes.
Hello boarding house. I don't want to stay there for too long. I get used to be in my home sweet home. I miss travelling too! Well, it's really needed for me to resist late. I must not worry for I'll go home during weekends.
Goodbye virtual world... I really enjoy my spare time with it for two months. I beat the call center agents in my duration of usage..
I can't promise to update this blog everytime. I'll just do my best to blog during weekends if I have vacant.
Please pray for me everybody!... I hope for the best tomorrow...

High School vs College

I've been following "Candy Magazine" since then. Its purpose isn't only to amuse and entertain but it also gives productive information that is so useful for teens like me nowadays. I love this month's issue. Its part "freshman’s fast guide to college" will surely be an aid in entering the new phase of school life. Fellow batchmates, I hope this would be gonna aid you too especially for those who'll have their first days this monday.

What are the differences...

High School

College

Schedule

7:30 in the morning to 3 or 4 in the afternoon, 4 to 6 subjects a day, with breaks recess and lunch.

(Sentebale, ours is quite different for I think we have about 10 subjects a day and we’ve been going home exceeding 6 pm for such purposes..**wew reminiscing mode again xD

After the first year (your schedule is usually pre-assigned then), how your class sched for the semester works out is entirely up to you.

Classes

Structured. You don’t get to pick classes you want to take.

There are some classes you’re required to take, but you can pick the electives you’re interested in.

Classmates

You’re organized into sections, so you’ll be with the same people all year, in every class.

You’ll be with your block mates in some classes, but you’ll also be with different classes every sem.

Materials

-You buy all your schoolbooks when you enroll.

- The DepEd will provide you the books.

-You’re sometimes obliged to photocopy some notes and handouts.

-Some teachers will require you to buy books, and it won’t be part of your tuition. Also, get used to the library because you’ll be photocopying lots of material there!

Barkada

You already have a clique that’s been together for a long time.

You might have a specific group, but you’re always meeting new people and interacting in lots of various social circles.

Campus

You’re in the same room most of the day.

Every class in a different room maybe even a different building.

Teachers

Already designed before the start of the school year.

Many options are available for almost all your classes, so do your research and choose wisely!

According to candy there’s also BEWARE tips:

-You might have referred to your teachers in high school as “Miss,” but it’s best to call your teachers “Ma’am” or “Sir”.

-TBA is not a room or a person; it means “To Be Announced” or “To Be Advised”

-It’s natural to be a little lost during the first few weeks of school, so confer with your block mates about the location of your next class.

-Don’t expect teachers to coddle or spoon-feed you. Write down important dates and mark them on your calendars.

Want more? You may purchase Candy Magazine and read “Freshman’s fast guide to college” (pages 42-43)

Life sucks without internet

Unlike the usual times, I’m browsing the internet lately because of the recent construction of our home. I’m so overprotective of my netbook for I don’t want it to contaminate with dusts. I’m open for new TV shows and movies.

I thought the internet connection would be dead forever. Last night, my netbook wasn’t able to connect with the internet. It came to my mind that maybe, it’s the same illness as last December wherein I wasn’t able to browse the net for almost a month and it’s kinda miserable. Then I loathe for it to happen.

I maneuvered to call the Smart Company to fix it. But my mother refused to do so for it would be another financial damage. She even decided to cut it off if it’s hopeless. Besides, on class days, I’ll be staying on the boarding house and there’s a Wifi connection there.

I felt the sense of abhorrence. For me, 11 days is too long. I must value those days for I might not have time to browse the World Wide Web because of obligations and accomplishments at school. Also, I just met new friends at formspring.me and I want to chat with them again. Then the MJ Fam on Tumblr, I’ll surely miss them. Don’t tell me I’ll move to the boarding house abruptly just because of the internet. If I’ll do that, surely it’s like I’m killing my mother with boredom. There’s no television and I love the scenes in “Langit sa Piling Mo” in the afternoon then I want to watch the pilot episode of "Pilyang Kerubin for I find it interesting.I don’t want to miss “Eat Bulaga” for my last week of summer.

Acceptance- that’s what I did last night. Though it was teary, I don’t have any other choice but to be patient and to count the days on the calendar before June 15. Well MJ soothed my mind again while watching moonwalker. At least I forgot misery while watching his moves and cuteness.

This is such a great day. Thanks for my cousin who has a great expertise in electronics and he fixed it. The connection’s wire was just disrupted due to the construction of our wall. Here I am on the world of internet.

Guitar

I got used to be in the world of duskiness and haste. My eyes remained closed in an open space. I shed all deplumes and conceived my inflictions. There came to a point that I never opened my soul to any hope at all. I believe that I’ll be in this lieu forever.

Suddenly I took heed at the strum of the guitar. My ears were well-pleased upon receiving that beautiful voice. Instead of penetrating my brain, it went directly to my heart. Its frets move as if it whimpers my soul with extreme happiness I ever needed. The music it made opened a bright light that illuminates the empty space and made my eyes open. Its melody tossed of the inflictions which made me bring into darkness. The harmony changed my mind from ambiguity to clarity. The tempo brought the hue that completes my contentment. Then the tone reconstructed my heart from pieces.

Then the guitar brought me to another game. I learned how to fall in love. My heart yearned for the music it made. I followed it wherever it is. I felt so perfect upon hearing its music. Time has passed my soul eventually opened the hope that I wished for.

Yet, the guitar turned into green. I already knew that its music isn’t for me. I felt another pain upon my unsuccessful expectations. I forced to close my ears for it tolerates my disappointment. I was even urged to ruin it for everything to stop. Still I realized that I cannot live without it. Though it’s not intended for me, I still followed the music. I didn’t even care at all as long as it’s always with me.

Time has passed its strum sounded lower and lower until it disappeared. The guitar departed without any prior knowledge of my feelings. Now, I remember what it looks like but I didn’t remember any piece of its sound anymore. I wondered if I could hear the same way again. Will that remarkable instrument be in my arms again? It has been twelve-month since the first time it came to my life. I must be grateful for its change it brought to me. I don’t know what destiny brings for us but still I’m happy I have such an instrument that brings the true resemblance in me.

The "far-reaching" thing (Chapter 1 and 2 1/2)

This was my project in English on my senior year. I exerted a lot of effort to excrete my imagination. I spent almost whole two days for these. I even emptied a ballpen’s ink because of this for the sake of passing on the next day. Unfortunately, everything was worthless for it was uncollected (Our English teacher set the deadline early and maybe she forgot this hahaha).. I’ll just post this on my blog for safety reasons- I might lost the original write-up. I don’t force you to read this but if you’re interested, okay go.

CHAPTER 1

The town’s breath of wind caressed Nadine after ten years of setting herself in United States. She felt the loss of her motherland no more.

Nadine Carol Smith had been bounded by almost everything-allure, amity and affluence yet love seemed to be her far-reaching paragon. She never acquired the perfect attention of her parents she needed nor had contented relationships. She urged to engage Jason Rodriguez, a son of a family friend though her heart didn’t want so.

Together with her friends, Julie and Melissa, she went to the Redemptorist Church- the beholder of her past. She’d been there in her childhood time.

As she knelt on a pew, she eavesdropped to a melancholic piano music from afar. Her soul was casting around on where it came from as her heart was bewildered. She then caught a sight of a man. He who appeared in majesty, elegance and grace made the music she admired.

Melissa stood up and went where the man was, Nadine and Julia followed then. “Hey your music’s great!” Melissa said as the man stopped playing the piano. “I am Melissa Labra, can we be friends?”

She wondered why the man gave an innocent gasp at Nadine. “I’m James Marco Rodriguez, you can call me Jimmy”

Jimmy.. Jimmy.. Nadine’s heart trembled upon hearing that name

“Hey, these are my friends, Nadine and Julia” Melissa introduced as Jimmy and Nadine stared blankly at each other.

“Nice meeting you girls! I’m sorry and I still have an appointment. I need to go.” Jimmy said hurriedly as he stood up and closed the piano.

“Bye Jimmy!” Melissa responded but Nadine unstopped his gaze upon him.

CHAPTER 2

Nadine reminisced on a crystalline night and made a sudden flashback. She already knew that Jimmy is an icon of her past.

This is how the story goes…

Nineteen years ago, Nadine was diagnosed with dengue at an old hospital as so did Jimmy with an unknown disease. That’s how they met. They became playmates and the little boy accompanied her at a moment without the presence of her mother. They started a so-called puppy love however everything was just like a snap. When Nadine discharged upon her recovery, they parted and moved to United States with her family.

It’s amazing that destiny bought them together after such a long time. It seems it’s too late. She’s vowed to marry Jason.

Furious and irascible, Mrs. Smith moved towards Nadine’s room.

“Why didn’t you answer Jason’s calls?” she asked angrily

“Mom I never care about him” Nadine answered without any hesitation.

“Whether you like it or not, you have no right to break your engagement. Don’t bring a shame to our family.” Mrs. Smith exclaimed.

“Mom, it seemed you discomfit my life, you ruled it and…” she stopped as her mother gave her the strongest slap.

Mom, am I your daughter or drudge? You never loved me though as your child” Nadine cried and ran away..

June 2010

I slept so late to welcome my month which is June. Obviously, it’s my favorite month. I’ll be turning 17 (seventeen) on the twenty-eighth day. Honestly, it’s not disappointing for I’m getting older. I must be thankful for God gave me another year to face challenges, to celebrate, to be happy and to touch other’s lives. Yesterday, my mother said that God really has a purpose to be born so I must be grateful. I should make every part of my life important. Due to my destiny to live, I must make my own history and stand out.

Aside from being my birth month, the mid-month of the year has other significance for me.

1. June 1- Well, this reminds me of something. It’s been a year that I entered my high school’s senior year and somebody gave me a hint to go to other path. Well that path may wake me up from a very long sleep or give me a light from my “blindness”.

2. June 15- Another chapter will begin. From being a senior, I’ll be a freshman again. I’m half-excited and half-nervous. I’ll be entering a new environment and new group of people.

3. June 25- It’s been a year that my idol, Michael Jackson was gone. Last year, though it’s 3 days before my birthday, I was crying because of that. I bear that I’m extremely addicted to him. I must be grateful for he’s now happy in heaven. Maybe he’s now moonwalking there without any pain.

4. June 28- Yes, it’s my birthday but it would have been a year for something. I entered the path and I woke up and I recovered my sight (not literally). I’m grateful for whoever behind it.

I conclude that there may be a purpose of everything. “Everything happens on a purpose” as what my MAPEH teacher said. God has a reason to

let someone live and take someone away. Whatever it is, I must cherish His reason.
